Abstract

In submerged-arc welding, ceramic fluxes in the form of grits obtained by mixing a charge of a certain composition and a binder with subsequent granulation and calcination at appropriate temperatures have become widespread. Ceramic fluxes are used primarily in surfacing, since they allow alloying the weld metal within wide limits. Ceramic fluxes are distinguished by high basicity, ensured by the introduction of calcium, magnesium oxides and their derivatives. One of the disadvantages of ceramic fluxes is the use of virgin materials as components, which require preliminary preparation, in particular, grinding. In this regard, it is of interest to study the possibility of using self-disintegrating highly basic ladle slag obtained in the production of rail grade steel.

Abstract

The technology for producing raw pellets on a plate pelletizer using forced nucleation technology includes two main stages: forming the nuclei by heat-and-power spraying of wet charge onto the garnishing of the empty zone of the container and forming the shell of the pellets by finishing the nuclei in the working area of the pelletizer. To do this, the loaded charge with a flow rate of Gt (unit capacity) is divided into two streams: a charge flow with a flow rate of Gs, necessary for forced nucleation, and a charge flow with a flow rate of Gob, directed to the nuclei to form the shell of the pellets. To obtain the embryos, a wet charge with a flow rate of Gs, kg/s is loaded into an inkjet device (CA) with a diameter of dSA. In the CA housing, it is accelerated by compressed air heated to a temperature of tb, °C, which is supplied at a pressure of Pb, kPa, through an air nozzle located on the CA axis.

Abstract

The development of energy, rocket and space, and cryogenic technologies requires the development of technologies for producing titanium-steel composites with guaranteed performance properties under high pressures, loads, and low and elevated temperatures. Traditional welding methods (melting or rolling) heat the metal interface to temperatures that lead to the formation of intermetallic compounds and titanium carbides, resulting in a sharp decrease in the strength and ductility of layered composite materials. Under optimal conditions, the fast explosive welding process prevents diffusion processes from developing, and the resulting titanium-steel composites are free of brittle inclusions. However, with subsequent operational heating above 600 °C, the formation of intermetallic layers at the interface between metals is possible, therefore, for such titanium-steel structures, it is advisable to use composites with intermediate layers between titanium and steel, eliminating or reducing the intensity of diffusion processes.

Abstract

Pulverized coal fuel has been used in blast furnaces for about 50 years. Its use has demonstrated its cost-effectiveness compared to other coke substitutes, such as natural gas and fuel oil.

Abstract

While studying the ostracods of the upper horizons of the Pavlodar formation near Omsk, T.A. Kazmina identified a volcanic ostracod complex. A complex with characteristic species Cyprinotus vassoevichi (= Cyprinotus baturini) Schneider, Caspiocypris candida (Livental), Cytherissa bogatschovi var. plana Klein, C. hyalina Schneider, Denticulocythere iliensis Bodina, D. tuberculata Negadaev was traced in outcrops and wells of the Omsk and Cherlak Irtysh regions, in the Ishim steppe and further south to Central Kulunda. The novostanic complex correlates with the Ili ostracod complex of Southeastern Kazakhstan in terms of species composition. Later, the novostanic formation was isolated from the Pavlodara formation. In the stratotypic outcrop near the village of Novaya Stanitsa on the Irtysh River south of Omsk, the sediments are represented by dark gray and brown carbonate clays, characterized by the ostracod complex of the same name, the fauna of mollusks and mammals of the Late Miocene ‒ Early Pliocene. Deposits are known in the outcro.

Abstract

D'Alembert's principle was formulated in 1743 and is one of the general principles of mechanics. Other names found in the literature include the kinetostatic method, the St. Petersburg principle, and the Hermann-Euler-D'Alembert principle.

Abstract

The research and production company Sibtermo (Krasnoyarsk) has developed and commercialized a technology for the autothermal semi-coking of brown coal from the Kansk-Achinsk basin. The resulting brown coal semi-coke (BCS) is a low-sulfur, low-ash, high-carbon product characterized by high chemical activity and increased adsorption capacity. It is intended for use as a pulverized energy fuel and for the purification of gaseous and liquid impurities. However, some consumers require a lump energy carrier with similar characteristics.

Abstract

Mathematical soil models of varying complexity are currently used. The advantage of simple models lies in the smaller number of input parameters, as well as the simplicity and clarity of the governing equations. However, the modeling results may not correspond to actual operating conditions. Complex, advanced models allow for a more accurate description of soil behavior, but they require a wider range of soil characteristics, as well as sufficient knowledge and experience on the part of the engineer when formulating the problem, selecting the model and its parameters, and analyzing the resulting calculations.

Abstract

The natural resource base for the production of building materials is depleted every year. At the same time, industrial production generates a large number of man-made products that can be used as raw materials.

Abstract

Based on the Law of the Russian Federation "On Education" and the Order of the Government of the Russian Federation "On Approval of the Strategy for Innovative Development of the Russian Federation for the Period up to 2020", it should be noted that the most important priority of the state's educational policy is to achieve high quality training of qualified specialists capable of possessing organizational skills, creative thinking and leadership skills.

Abstract

The Faculty of Civil Engineering was established in September 1960 at the Siberian Metallurgical Institute. On March 1, 2011, the faculty was transformed into the Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, which is part of the Siberian State Industrial University (SibGIU). More than 70 faculty members, including 12 doctors of science and professors, and 40 candidates of science and associate professors, are engaged in training engineering personnel at the institute. The educational process makes extensive use of technical teaching aids, scientific conferences, student paper competitions, and business games. The institute's graduate departments have computer labs and educational and research laboratories.

Abstract

November 10, 2015, marks the 85th anniversary of the birth of Academician V.E. Panin, an outstanding contemporary scientist in the field of physics and mechanics of deformable solids and physical materials science. He graduated with honors from the Physics Department of Tomsk State University (TSU) in 1952, and completed his postgraduate studies in 1955, defending his PhD dissertation. From 1955 to 1979, he worked at the Siberian Physicotechnical Institute (SPTI) at TSU as a senior research fellow and then as head of the Department of Metal Physics. In 1967, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, and in 1971 he was awarded the academic title of Professor.
