Metallurgy and Materials Science

Abstract

Wear of working surfaces of mining equipment mechanisms as a result of abrasive and impact wear during operation necessitates restoration. The most promising process is restoration using flux-cored wire surfacing. For this purpose, special surfacing materials and flux-cored wires are being developed and manufactured in our country and abroad [1–9]. Due to the optimally selected alloying method, the deposited coatings have high hardness, abrasive and impact-abrasive wear resistance. Surfacing wires of the Fe–C–Si–Mn–Cr–Ni–Mo systems of type A and B according to the MIS classification are widely used for surfacing abrasive-wearing products [10]. This paper continues previously initiated research on the development of new compositions of flux-cored wires for surfacing products operating under conditions of abrasive wear in the mining industry.

Abstract

For repair operations, flux-cored wires of various chemical compositions are widely used in surfacing. A special role is given to surfacing materials with the highest wear resistance - tungsten-containing flux-cored wires, which use reduced tungsten in the form of ferroalloys, ligatures and metal powder of varying degrees of purity. The papers study the possibility of restoring tungsten during surfacing with tungsten-containing flux-cored wires.

Abstract

The publication in 1942 of Norbert Wiener's famous book "Cybernetics or Control and Communication in the Animal and the Machine" marked the emergence of a new science. It seems that it would be interesting and important to trace the genesis of the ideas that led N. Wiener to the creation of this science, especially since another system-oriented science - synergetics, which was formed three decades later, is undoubtedly its further development. A unique opportunity for such an analysis is provided by N. Wiener's autobiographical book "I am a Mathematician", which successfully combines episodes from everyday life with a description at a fairly accessible level of his scientific career, if one can call continuous hard work a career, which only many years later led the author to world fame and financial security. At first, his scientific career was not easy, although he was considered a child prodigy.

Mining and Geotechnology

Abstract

Recently, reserves of rich, free-dressing ores and non-metallic minerals have been rapidly declining in Russia and the world. At the same time, environmental standards for mining and enrichment processes have increased sharply, and restrictions on the quality of raw materials and enrichment products have become more stringent. In this regard, engineers and scientists are faced with the task of developing and improving technologies for separating minerals and extracting individual elements from difficult-to-dress, poor and refractory ores, as well as from man-made raw materials.

Ecology and rational use of natural resources

Abstract

It is difficult to fully believe in the hypothesis of global warming when the entire territory of Russia beyond the Urals has been experiencing abnormally severe frosts for several weeks. But it is precisely this insufficiently substantiated hypothesis of climate change on Earth that has raised the question of the "greenhouse effect", in which emissions of combustion products can create conditions for the absorption of part of the solar radiation, which leads to an increase in the temperature of the atmosphere.

Chemistry and chemical technology

Abstract

Lead-antimony alloys are characterized by simple eutectic and low mutual solubility of the components (maximum 3.5% (by weight) Sb) and are distinguished by high mechanical strength and casting properties. These alloys are widely used in the battery industry in the manufacture of grids and, in some cases, casting anodes for the electrolysis of sulfuric acid solutions of zinc, cadmium and manganese.

Economy and Management

Abstract

Currently, the supplier selection procedure is becoming more and more multi-stage and extensive. The supplier pre-qualification procedure is widely used, where basic data on the supplier is analyzed, which is part of the safety system and an exercise of prudence. It should also be said about such a reality of the enterprise's activities as purchasing from a single supplier. In this case, there is no need to talk about a reasonable choice, implementation of purchasing procedures, or supplier assessment.

Architecture and construction

Abstract

The purpose of this methodological study is to analyze the communicative capabilities of architectural drawing both at the stage of training in an architectural school and in design practice. Scientific and technical progress has an active influence on all types of modern human activity. Architectural practice is no exception, in particular, the organization of the work of architects and engineers. In recent years, there have been major changes in the design of the flow of information related to architectural engineering, construction and training. A huge amount of drawing documentation, without which architectural practice is impossible, is performed using computer technologies, which inevitably entail changes that affect the efficiency of the work of the architectural and engineering communities.

Social sciences

Abstract

Progressive development of Russia in the 21st century is impossible without the formation of a spiritual and moral society of people who are not alien to sympathy and compassion for each other, ready to selflessly help and support those in need. At all times, it was mercy that helped humanity survive and pass on its knowledge and experience to a new generation, which led to the development of civilization.

Abstract

Kuzbass is one of the largest industrial regions of Russia. Due to the industrial focus of the Kuzbass economy, the main types of production are coal mining, metallurgy and chemical industry. The presented types of economic activity are classified as the most hazardous and harmful industries

Abstract

In January 1958, the first issue of the journal "News of Higher Educational Institutions. Black Metallurgy" was published in the city of Stalinsk (now Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo Region). In 2018, the journal celebrates its 60th anniversary, so it is interesting to recall some stages in the history of this publication.
