STUDY OF RAW MATERIALS FOR ROAD CONCRETE
Abstract
Concrete for road construction must possess high compressive and tensile strength, crack resistance, durability, and abrasion resistance. To achieve these characteristics, fiber-reinforced concrete is recommended. Domestic and international experience shows that dispersed reinforcement of concrete with various fibers is the most optimal and is increasingly used in many areas of construction. Steel wire, glass, basalt, and polypropylene fibers are commonly used as fibers, but experience has shown that their use is either expensive (steel fibers) or ineffective (glass fibers).
