ON THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF KOZYREV NIKOLAI ANATOLYEVICH

February 18, 1966 marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of the head of the Department of Materials Science, Foundry and Welding Production, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Nikolai Anatolyevich Kozyrev.
After graduating from high school with a gold medal in 1983, he entered the Siberian Metallurgical Institute, specializing in "metallurgy of ferrous metals", specializing in "electrometallurgy of steel and ferroalloys", from which he graduated with honors in 1988. He began his career at the Kuznetsk Metallurgical Plant as a research engineer in the Central Complex Laboratory. He worked in the positions of head of the steelmaking laboratory, head of the technical expertise department of investment projects of the investment and strategic development department, head of the project implementation department, deputy head of the production department for steelmaking, head of the technical department, deputy chief engineer of NKMK for technology. Without interrupting his work, under the supervision of the rector of SMI, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor N.V. Tolstoguzov, he studied in the correspondence postgraduate program and in 1995 he defended his candidate's dissertation on the topic of "Development and industrial testing of the technology of direct alloying of electric steel with manganese" in the dissertation council of the Siberian Mining and Metallurgical Academy. Actively engaged in scientific and industrial activities, since 1998 he began teaching at the Siberian State Industrial University as an associate professor of the department of electrometallurgy of steel and ferroalloys. Under the supervision and with the direct participation of N.A. Kozyrev, technologies for smelting in electric arc furnaces, out-of-furnace processing, casting into molds and on a continuous casting machine for rail electric steel were developed and implemented in the conditions of OJSC "Novokuznetsk Iron and Steel Works". He developed a number of new steel grades for the production of rails, which are currently successfully used on the railways of the Russian Federation. Being one of the founders of the production of rails from electric steel, in 2005 N.A. Kozyrev defended his doctoral dissertation "Development and implementation of the technology of smelting in electric arc furnaces, out-of-furnace processing and continuous casting of steel intended for the production of railway rails" without interrupting his work. In 2010, he transferred to a permanent job at the Siberian State Industrial University, where by order of the rector he was appointed to the position of head of the department of "Metallurgy and welding technology". In 2011, he was awarded the title of professor. Since 2015, he was elected by competition as the head of the department of "Materials Science, Foundry and Welding Production".

N.A. Kozyrev constantly improves his knowledge in the field of metallurgy, quality and safety systems at numerous symposiums, exhibitions and conferences. Visited a number of metallurgical enterprises in Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Turkey, China. Graduate of the "Industrial consulting group" course REFA, Moscow School of Management "Skolkovo" under the program "Executive Education".
Kozyrev N.A. is the author of five monographs: "Production of railway rails from electric steel", "Current problems of rail production", "Railway rails from electric steel", "Machines and processes of continuous casting of blanks", "High technologies in metallurgy", has 190 patents of the Russian Federation and more than 470 printed scientific and technical publications.
He is a laureate of the Government of the Russian Federation Prize in Science and Technology for 2009 for the work "Development and implementation of a comprehensive technology for the production of new-generation rails from electric steel". He has the title of "Honored Inventor of the Russian Federation", was awarded the medals "For Service to Kuzbass", "For Faith and Goodness", "Engineer of the Year" in the nomination "Ferrous Metallurgy", was awarded the "Excellent Quality" badge. He was repeatedly awarded honorary certificates of various levels.
N.A. Kozyrev successfully combines scientific and teaching activities with active work in the Academic Council of the University, dissertation councils on metallurgy and metal science, actively promotes scientific and technical achievements, organizes professional skills competitions and technical exhibitions. With his direct participation and under his leadership, new research laboratories were created at the department, the material and technical base is actively being improved. He laid the foundations for graduate school in the field of welding and related processes, became the organizer of the scientific and technical direction of welding and surfacing under fluxes with carbon-fluorine-containing additives and the creation of new flux-cored wires. With his energy, hard work, constant learning and improvement of his professional knowledge, N.A. Kozyrev has earned great authority and respect.
