CONTEMPORARY ART AND INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE
Abstract
At the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century, a new trend is emerging in the field of protection and popularization of heritage – in particular, a there is a special interest in industrial products (design) and industrial objects of architecture. Essential for evaluating these types of heritage as elements of creative and social development of the humankind is possibility of their resocialization in connection with development of innovations and technology. On the one hand, this gives a new point of view on classical works of art or possibility of carrying out modern creative projects; it allows location at a worthy place in a «different» space, and secure the «new» viewers. The article discusses potential of industrial heritage sites in the presentation of works of art.
