ANALYSIS OF WASTE MANAGEMENT MODELS AND DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTEGRATED MODEL FOR REGIONAL MANAGEMENT OF SOLID HOUSEHOLD WASTE
Abstract
The growing quantity and complexity of municipal solid waste (MSW) has led humanity to recognize the need to manage waste streams. The term "Waste Management," widely used internationally, refers to the organization of waste management with the goal of reducing its impact on human health and the environment. This definition clearly articulates the purpose of waste management. While the term "waste management" is not defined in Russian scientific literature or regulatory documents, the term "waste management" is used in practice, as defined in Federal Law No. 89-FZ "On Production and Consumption Waste": the collection, accumulation, use, rendering harmless, transportation, and disposal of waste. This definition does not imply any need for any management of this activity.
