EXPERIENCE IN USING LIME-PREVENTED IRON ORE CONCENTRATE IN AGGLOMERATION

Abstract

The problem of supplying iron ore to the EVRAZ ZSMK sinter plant has existed since the sintering machines were commissioned in 1967–1971. According to the project, the Korshunovsky GOK was the main supplier of iron ore for the EVRAZ ZSMK sinter plant. However, during the decline in production by the Russian mining and metallurgical complex in the 1990s and the change of ownership at the Korshunovsky GOK, EVRAZ ZSMK was forced to purchase iron ore from a number of Russian mining and processing plants (Kuznetsk, Mikhailovsky, Stoilensky, Olenegorsky, KMArud, Lebedinsky, Vysokogorsky, and Bakalsky), as well as from Kazakhstan (Lisakovsky and Sokolovsko-Sarbaisky).
