MODELING OF THERMOGASODYNAMIC REGULARITIES OF CONVERTER LINING TORCRETING WITH CARBONATE TORCRET MASSES

Abstract

One possible resource- and energy-saving option for hot repairs of converter linings is an integrated technology that simultaneously blows the final slag with nitrogen gas jets and torch gunning using readily available gunning mixes based on unfired refractory materials. A diagram of this technology is provided. In this case, converter lining repairs are performed using a special vertical gas-cooled gunning lance, which enables the combined operation of slag blowing and torch gunning. Simultaneously, during the process of applying a slag crust by blowing the final slag onto the lining surface with nitrogen jets, gunite flares are applied. The gunite mixtures used in these flares include readily available materials such as recycled lime kiln dust, coal dust from coke dry quenching units, and raw dolomite or magnesite powder. The primary objective of the final slag blowing process (τ = 3 h 5 min) is to additionally deposit slag-forming components (CaO, MgO) onto the converter walls. These components will participate in the slag formation process during subsequent melting and blowing of the converter bath.
