COMPARISON OF THE RESULTS OF EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES OF THE STRESS-STRAIN STATE OF THE SOIL BASE UNDER THE SOLE OF SLOTTED STRIP FOUNDATIONS WITH THE RESULTS OF CALCULATIONS OBTAINED USING THE PLAXIS PROGRAM
Abstract
Mathematical soil models of varying complexity are currently used. The advantage of simple models lies in the smaller number of input parameters, as well as the simplicity and clarity of the governing equations. However, the modeling results may not correspond to actual operating conditions. Complex, advanced models allow for a more accurate description of soil behavior, but they require a wider range of soil characteristics, as well as sufficient knowledge and experience on the part of the engineer when formulating the problem, selecting the model and its parameters, and analyzing the resulting calculations.
