FOR THE ANNIVERSARY OF IRINA DMITRIEVNA ROZHIKHINA

On December 17, 2017, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Ferrous Metallurgy of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Siberian Industrial University” Irina Dmitrievna Rozhikhina celebrated her anniversary. All professional activities of I.D. Rozhikhina are connected with the metallurgy of electric steel and ferroalloys and with her native university, where she passed all stages of teaching qualification. In 1971, she graduated with honors from the Siberian Metallurgical Institute with a degree in Ferrous Metallurgy and was accepted as an assistant to the Department of Electrometallurgy of Steel and Ferroalloys; after defending her candidate dissertation in 1980, she was elected to the position of associate professor of this department. In 2007, after defending her doctoral dissertation, she was elected to the position of professor of the department, and in 2013 I.D. Rozhikhina was awarded the academic title of professor.
During her work at the higher school, Irina Dmitrievna proved herself to be a talented teacher, she is an Honorary Worker of Higher and Professional Education of the Russian Federation, is one of the leading professors of the university, her lectures are distinguished by a combination of a high theoretical level with a clear form of presentation, she is the author of 10 textbooks with the stamp of the UMO on education in the field of metallurgy. Diploma projects and works completed under her supervision have been repeatedly awarded Certificates of Honor and Diplomas for participation in competitions of diploma projects and works in the field of metallurgy. I.D. Rozhikhina took an active part in the development of the Department of Ferrous Metallurgy at the Yurginsky Technological Institute - a branch of the Tomsk Polytechnic University.
I.D. Rozhikhina is a member of the dissertation council D.212.252.01 for the defense of doctoral and candidate dissertations in the specialties 05.16.02 - Metallurgy of ferrous, non-ferrous and rare metals, 05.16.05 - Metal forming. Irina Dmitrievna constantly maintains contact with graduates of the department working at the ferroalloy and other plants in Novokuznetsk, participating in the competition commissions of scientific and technical conferences for young specialists, and shares her knowledge in improving the qualifications of electrometallurgical engineers. The main direction of scientific activity is the development of theoretical and technological bases of production of ferroalloys, in particular, manganese alloys with reduced content of phosphorus and carbon, obtaining new high-quality manganese-containing materials, as well as development of theoretical bases of modification and microalloying of steel with vanadium, barium and strontium. Thermodynamic characteristics obtained by I.D. Rozhikhina in experimental and theoretical studies of Fe-V-Si-C, Fe-V-Si systems are used in studying vanadium-based alloys. The results of scientific research of I.D. Rozhikhina are systematically presented to the scientific community in the form of reports at International and All-Russian conferences and are reflected in more than 200 publications, including 8 monographs and 8 inventions and patents, she prepared four candidates of technical sciences.

I.D. Rozhikhin participated as a scientific supervisor, responsible executor and executor in scientific and technical work on orders from enterprises, with grant support from the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, within the framework of federal and regional programs in the implementation of scientific research work, including "Development of theoretical and technological foundations for obtaining manganese alloys with reduced phosphorus and carbon content" (grant of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation); "Development of theoretical and technological foundations of resource-saving technology for the production of complex alloys" (program "Scientific research of higher education in priority areas of science and technology"); "Development of energy- and material-saving technology for deoxidation and alloying of steel with oxide materials" (subprogram "Production technologies"); as a responsible executor, she took part in two grants from the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation (“Study of the physicochemical laws of the processes of obtaining and using materials for alloying and modifying alloys based on iron and aluminum using nanotechnology”, “Study of the thermodynamic and kinetic laws of the interaction of oxide and metal melts during high-temperature synthesis of new ultra-pure materials”) and work carried out under a state contract “Study of the physicochemical laws of smelting and processing of metal in a ladle-furnace unit for the production of low-temperature reliable rails”, executor of the research “Study of the thermodynamic and kinetic laws of reduction processes during microalloying and modification of steel with barium and strontium using natural raw materials during extra-furnace processing”. By assignment of the enterprises Irina Dmitrievna participated in the implementation of the research work "Study of the possibility of smelting manganese alloys in an electric arc furnace", "Organization of production of ferrosilicon manganese grade MnC17 in the amount of 45,000 tons per year at the plant of OOO SGMK-Ferroalloys", "Study of metallurgical properties of quartzites of the Uvat deposit". For many years of conscientious and creative work, Professor I.D. Rozhikhin was repeatedly awarded with gratitude and certificates of various levels: Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation; Certificate of Honor of the Administration of the city of Novokuznetsk; Certificate of Honor of the Yurginsky City Council of People's Deputies; Certificates of Honor of the organizing committee of the All-Russian competition of diploma projects and diploma papers in the field of metallurgy; awarded the Kuzbass medal "For the worthy upbringing of children"; the medal "65 years of the Kemerovo region"; the medal "For special contribution to the development of Kuzbass"; the 2nd degree medal "For participation in the development of Tomsk Polytechnic University"; awarded the "Golden Department of Russia" badge. The editorial board of the magazine, colleagues, students and friends heartily congratulate Irina Dmitrievna on her anniversary, wish her good health, new creative successes in scientific and educational activities.
