March 29, 2022. Lyudmila Petrovna Bashchenko, executive secretary of the journal "News of Universities. Black Metallurgy", associate professor of the department of "Heat Power Engineering and Ecology" celebrates a beautiful birthday - 55 years!

In 1984, she graduated from school No. 26 in Novokuznetsk, and received the badge "For excellent studies". Lyudmila Petrovna graduated in 1989 with honors from the Siberian Metallurgical Institute named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze (SibGIU) in the specialty "Catching and utilization of dust and gases". She was invited to graduate school at the department of "Heat engineering of furnaces and gas purification". In 1994, she was hired by the editorial board of the journal "News of Universities. Black Metallurgy" at the media as an editor.

In 2013, L.P. Bashchenko defended her candidate's dissertation, completed at the scientific school of V.E. Gromov, and she was awarded the academic degree of candidate of technical sciences. Since 2016, Lyudmila Petrovna has headed the Siberian editorial board of the journal "News of universities. Black metallurgy". Lyudmila Petrovna has extensive experience in scientific and pedagogical activities. Managing the work in the editorial office is a lot of work: preparing journal issues for printing (editing text, tables, figures, bibliographic material in accordance with GOSTs and publishers' requirements); working with section editors, authors, reviewers; design of article materials; preparing documents for publications; working with various electronic databases and libraries. All this colossal work and qualifications allow us to publish a journal that raises the prestige and status of the university. Since 2012, the editorial staff has been preparing the journal "Vestnik SibGIU" for publication, where L.P. Bashchenko takes an active part.

Lyudmila Petrovna began her teaching career in 2018 at the Department of Thermal Power Engineering and Ecology, continuing the dynasty of teachers: her mother, Raisa Ivanovna Solovyova, taught at the university for 46 years at the Department of Engineering Designs.
During her work, L.P. Bashchenko has repeatedly undergone advanced training in the area of ​​her activity "Strategy and tactics of development and promotion of an international scientific publication" (State Academic University for the Humanities, Moscow); in the pedagogical activities of SibGIU in the areas of "Digital transformation of education: new competencies of a teacher", "Methods for setting tasks for the strategic development of a university". She took part in and received certificates of participation in many webinars and seminars on preparing materials for publication in journals.
L.P. Bashchenko is raising two children. Lyudmila Petrovna's son is a graduate of Peter the Great St. Petersburg State University, her daughter is finishing her studies at Lyceum No. 11 with good and excellent marks, has the second adult category in chess, and is fond of basketball.
Lyudmila Petrovna does a lot of work on paperwork in the dissertation council as the technical secretary of the dissertation council D212.252.04.
