Abstract

April 26, 2022 marks the 70th birthday of the Head of the Department of "Metal Forming and Metal Science. EVRAZ ZSMK" of the Siberian State Industrial University (SibGIU), Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Andrey Rostislavovich Fastykovsky. Andrey Rostislavovich graduated from the Sergo Ordzhonikidze Siberian Metallurgical Institute (now SibGIU) in 1974 with a degree in "Metal Forming" and received the qualification of a metallurgical engineer. Fastykovsky A.R. connected his entire subsequent career with SibGIU, having gone from a research engineer to the Head of the Department of "Metal Forming and Metal Science. EVRAZ ZSMK", Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.

April 26, 2022 marks the 70th birthday of the Head of the Department of "Metal Forming and Metal Science. EVRAZ ZSMK" of the Siberian State Industrial University (SibGIU), Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Andrey Rostislavovich Fastykovsky.


Andrey Rostislavovich graduated from the Sergo Ordzhonikidze Siberian Metallurgical Institute (now SibGIU) in 1974 with a degree in "Metal Forming" and received the qualification of a metallurgical engineer. Fastykovsky A.R. connected his entire subsequent career with SibGIU, going from a research engineer to the Head of the Department of "Metal Forming and Metal Science. EVRAZ ZSMK", Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.


Andrey Rostislavovich Fastykovsky is a well-known specialist in the field of metal forming. Under his leadership and with his direct participation, numerous applied research works were carried out to improve rolling processes at enterprises in Siberia, the Far East and neighboring countries (OAO Amurmetall, AO Novosibirsk Metallurgical Plant named after Kuzmin, AO Uzmetkombinat, AO EVRAZ ZSMK).


Andrey Rostislavovich's research works made it possible to lay the scientific foundations for the practical application of new combined methods of metal forming, which, in turn, made it possible to solve a wide range of problems aimed at improving rolling-pressing processes, the Slitting process, and to develop theoretical foundations for trouble-free operation of roll fittings of section mills.
A.R. Fastykovsky has extensive experience in teaching, which he began in 1980. Andrey Rostislavovich is the author of more than 250 scientific and educational-methodical works, including a monograph, 7 teaching aids with the UMO stamp, 17 patents and author's certificates. The high quality of his teaching aids was noted with gold medals at international book fairs in Paris, London, and Madrid.
A.R. Fastykovsky is a member of dissertation councils, a corresponding member of the International Academy of Natural Sciences. His merits were noted by the title "Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation", domestic and foreign awards: the RAE order "LABORE ET SCIENTIA - Labor and Knowledge", medals "For Service to Kuzbass", "70 Years of the Kemerovo Region", "Veteran of Labor", and other awards and certificates of the Kemerovo Region Administration.


Two candidate dissertations were defended under the supervision of A.R. Fastykovsky.
A person of high culture, always friendly and responsive, smart and collected A.R. Fastykovsky enjoys well-deserved respect and authority among his colleagues and students.

The editorial board and the editorial staff of the magazine, the university staff and friends heartily congratulate Andrey Rostislavovich on his anniversary, wish him creative success, energy and health.
